Founders building in public have a problem. They spend 2+ hours a day just on communications. Twitter replies. LinkedIn posts. Cold emails. And half that time is wasted copying text between tabs and AI tools.
The Problem
Context switching kills momentum. You are in the middle of crafting a reply, then you open ChatGPT, paste your text, wait for output, copy it back, edit it to sound like you. By the time you are done, you have lost your train of thought. And somehow you still sound like a robot.
What We Built
AirWrite is a browser extension that puts AI right next to your cursor. Highlight any text and a small popup appears. Rewrite for tone. Fix grammar. Expand an idea. Generate a reply. All without leaving the page.
One founder used it to turn rough notes into viral tweets. Another fixed grammar in DMs and made cold emails sound professional. All without opening a single new tab.
How It Works
We built AirWrite as a Chrome Extension using React and TypeScript. It connects to OpenAI GPT-4 for the AI processing. The extension injects a lightweight UI that appears on highlight.
Key features:
- Cursor-level AI assistance on any webpage
- Tone adjustment (professional, casual, friendly)
- Grammar and clarity fixes
- Content expansion from bullet points
- Works on Twitter, LinkedIn, Gmail, and everywhere else
The Results
Writing stopped being the bottleneck. Replies that used to sit half-finished in drafts now go out in the moment, so conversations move faster and more of them actually happen. Users stay inside whatever app they were already working in, which is the quiet win: no tab hopping, no pasting between tools, no losing the thread mid-thought. And because the assistant learns each writer’s voice, the extra volume never reads as generic.
Why It Matters
The best tool is one you do not have to think about. AirWrite disappears into your workflow. You just write, and it helps you sound like the best version of yourself.
